One crew from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found the property on fire, with the fire affecting part of the neighbouring property. Eight firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two main jets, two hose reels, the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Water Carrier to put out the fire.

They were on scene for approximately four hours and 57 minutes.

Two crews from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection, in which they found a small amount of carpet smouldering. Firefighters used one hose reel to dampen it down.
