Fire in Tilehurst

At 9:52am on Saturday, 12 September, we received reports of a fire on Huscarle Way in Tilehurst.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Newbury, Wokingham, Mortimer, Bracknell and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside four Officers and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire in a two-storey house. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one main jet, two hose reels and the Aerial Ladder Platform to extinguish the fire. One person was taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately three hours and 25 minutes before handing over to Thames Valley Police. Crews returned later to reinspect the property for hotspots.
