At 9.54pm on Monday, 29 May, we received reports of a fire at a property on Thurso Close, Tilehurst.
Crews from Caversham Road, Theale and Wokingham Road Fire Stations were sent to the scene, along with the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Whitley Wood Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews found a fire affecting the first floor and roof space of a derelict building. Two fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used two water jets to extinguish the fire. Crews remained at the scene to dampen down and check for fire spread and the property was re-inspected the following morning. Fire crews were on the scene for approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
