At 9:32pm on Friday, 9 October, we received reports of a train fire at Wokingham Railway Station on Station Approach in Wokingham.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham, Bracknell, Wokingham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in a train involving lithium ion batteries in a passenger’s luggage. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire and cool the battery, before removing it from the train.
Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and six minutes.
