At 7:44am on Wednesday, 20 May, we received reports of a fire near Wantage Road in Donnington.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered an electric pylon on fire. Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and damp down the surrounding area before handing the scene over to engineers from SEB.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 25 minutes.
