At 8:54am on Wednesday, 7 October, we received reports of a fire on Gun Street in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.

On arrival, crews discovered a smouldering electrical cable on the rooftop of a building. Firefighters used the Aerial Ladder Platform to access the rooftop before using a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour.
