At 11:18am on Friday, 15 May, we received reports of a fire on Grove Road in Sonning Common, Oxfordshire.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service Crews from Caversham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire involving a power pylon. Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire before handing the scene to engineers from SSE.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 10 minutes.
