Reports of an Incident in Reading

At 2:34pm on Friday, 27 June, we received a call from Thames Valley Police to reports of an incident on the River Thames near Sonning Lock in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Wokingham fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station and two Officers.

Upon arrival, crews found that the report of the incident was a false alarm made with good intent. Firefighters found a mannequin in the river.

They were on scene for approximately 59 minutes.
