At 4:32pm on Saturday, 28 June, we received reports of a fire in the open on Hyde End Lane in Brimpton, Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury, Theale, Wokingham, Whitley Wood, Caversham Road and Maidenhead fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the 4×4 vehicle from Maidenhead Fire Station, the Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station, and three Officers.
Two crews and two Officers from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, one crew from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue (BLSAR) also attended the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a crop field on fire. Firefighters used hose reels to put out the fire. BLSAR’s drone was used to monitor for hotspots at the scene.
They were on scene for approximately three hours and 22 minutes.
One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection.
