At 3:55pm on Tuesday, 15 September, we received reports of a field fire on Wantage Road in Eddington, Hungerford.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Newbury Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside the offroad vehicle from Lambourn Fire Station, and one crew from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found approximately two acres of grassland on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and dampened down the area.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 36 minutes.

One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection where they found no further hotspots.
