UPDATE – 13/07/2026:
At 1:56pm on Friday, 10 July, we received reports of a field fire near Hungerford Park in Hungerford.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hungerford, Newbury and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside 4×4 offroad vehicles from Hungerford and Mortimer fire stations, the Zetros water carrier from Bracknell Fire Station, and two Officers.
Two crews and one Officer from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, and two crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service were also sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a large area of a crop field on fire. Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to control the fire and prevent escalation.
They were on scene for approximately three hours and 24 minutes.
One crew and the 4×4 offroad vehicle from Hungerford Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection, where they found a hotspot and used one hose reel to dampen down and make the scene safe.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hungerford, Newbury and Wokingham Road fire stations are currently at the scene, alongside 4×4 offroad vehicles from Hungerford and Mortimer fire stations, the Zetros water carrier from Bracknell Fire Station, and two Officers.
Two crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are also currently at the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a large area of grassland on fire. Firefighters are working to get the fire under control.
