At 7:21pm on Thursday, 3 July, we received reports of a field fire on Monks Lane in Newbury.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hungerford and Newbury fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the 4×4 vehicle from Hungerford Fire Station, one Officer, and one crew from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews found hedgerow, gorse and grass on fire. Firefighters used three hose reels, beaters and the water shuttle from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service to put out the fire.
They were on scene for approximately two hours and 33 minutes.
One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection.
