At 3:18pm on Wednesday, 22 July, we received reports of a field fire near Aldworth Road in Newbury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside the ‘Zetros’ water carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire in a field that was spreading to the hedgerows of adjoining fields. Firefighters used four hose reels to put out the fire and make the scene safe.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 19 minutes.
