At 6:14pm on Wednesday, 29 July, we received reports of a fire near Main Street in West Ilsley.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Newbury Fire Station was sent to the scene alongside an Officer, the ‘Zetros’ Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station and two crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

On arrival, crews discovered a field fire that had spread over an acre of farmland. Firefighters used two hose reels, beaters and the Zetros to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately 50 minutes.
