At 3:54pm on Sunday, 30 August, we received reports of a fire at a high-rise building on Flagstaff Road in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood, Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Theale, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead and Newbury fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station and two Officers.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire in a flat on the seventh floor. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus helped with evacuations, and used the Aerial Ladder Platform and two main jets to put out the fire.

Crews were on scene for approximately three hours.
