At 2:11pm on Thursday, 16 July, we received reports of a fire on Waller Drive in Newbury.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Hungerford fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two Officers and a crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire involving approximately one hectare of grassland and woodland. Firefighters used a hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately three hours before returning later to check for hotspots.
