At 4:21pm on Monday, 20 July, we received reports of a fire in the open near Kings Ride in Ascot.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bracknell, Windsor, and Wokingham fire stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found some woodland and grassland on fire. Firefighters used two hose reels to put out the fire.

They were on scene for approximately two hours.

A crew from Bracknell Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection where they located and dampened down hotspots.

One crew from Ascot Fire Station went to the scene the following morning for another reinspection where they used one hose reel to dampen down hotspots.
