At 8:37am on Thursday, 9 July, we received reports of a fire in the open on Burdens Heath in Bucklebury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside the Zetros water carrier from Bracknell Fire Station, one Officer, and one crew from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found an electrical power line had fallen, causing a fire in a forest. Firefighters dampened down the forest floor to extinguish the fire, before handing over to SSE to safely restore power.

Crews were on scene for approximately three hours and 21 minutes.
