At 4.11pm we were called to reports of a fire in the open on Westbury Lane, Purley on Thames.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Bracknell and one crew from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire involving a field and fence bordering the railway line. They extinguished the fire using one hose reel and one main jet.

Crews were initially on the scene for about one hour and 45 minutes before returning for a reinspection following reports of more smoke.
