At 3:30pm on Monday, 6 July, we received reports of a fire in the open near Hatchet Lane in Windsor.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Langley and Ascot fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer and one crew from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found a large area of woodland on fire. Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to put out the fire, before using a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature.

They were on scene for approximately two hours and 49 minutes.

One crew from Ascot Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection where they found no hotspots.
