At 8:06pm on Saturday, 15 August, we received reports of a fire in the open on Limmerhill Road in Wokingham.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham, Bracknell and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the ‘Zetros’ water carrier from Bracknell Fire Station, an off-road vehicle from Mortimer Fire Station, and one Officer.

One crew from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service was also sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a large fire involving approximately 1000 square metres of woodland and scrubland. Firefighters used main jets, hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish the fire.

They were on scene for approximately three hours and 41 minutes.

The crew from Wokingham Fire Station returned to the scene the following morning for a reinspection.
