At 9:28pm on Wednesday, 27 May, we received reports of a fire in the open on Station Road in Woolhampton, Reading.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Theale Community Fire Station and two crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found some grassland on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to put out the fire.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 34 minutes.

One crew from Theale Community Fire Station returned to the scene the following day for a reinspection, where they used hose reels to dampen down hotspots.
