At 11:46am on Tuesday, 4 August, we received reports of a fire on Raghill in Aldermaston.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two Officers, the ‘Zetros’ Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station and a crew from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire in a large area of grass and woodland. Firefighters used three hose reels, beaters and the Zetros to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately three hours before a crew from Theale Community Fire Station returned to reinspect for hotspots.
