At 12:40am on Friday, 7 August, we received reports of a fire near Reading Road in Burghfield Common.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the ‘Zetros’ Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.

On arrival, crews discovered a peat fire spread across an area of woodland. Firefighters surrounded the fire and used two hose reel jets, beaters and the Zetros to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 55 minutes.
