At 5:02pm on Tuesday, 4 August, we received reports of a fire on Callins Lane near Shurlock Row.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Ascot Fire Station was sent to the scene alongside the ‘Zetros’ Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.

On arrival, the crew discovered a fire in a large pile of wood chips. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately four hours before a crew from Bracknell Fire Station returned to reinspect for hotspots.
