At 4:50am on Monday, 10 August, we received reports of a fire in the open on Nine Mile Ride near Wokingham.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham and Bracknell fire stations were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire in the open. Firefighters used four hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 50 minutes before returning later to check the scene for hotspots.
