At 2:07pm on Thursday, 11 August, we received reports of a fire in the open near Welshmans Road in Padworth Common.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Mortimer and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside crews from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews found a fire in a woodland area.
Firefighters worked to get the fire under control, but remain on scene damping down and checking for hotspots.
