At 6:17pm on Saturday, 22 April, we received reports of a fire on Oxford Road in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service Crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Mortimer, Whitley Wood and Theale Fire Stations were sent to the scene alongside the Aerial ladder Platform, Incident Command Unit and two Officers.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the first floor of a three storey building. Six firefighters in breathing apparatus used three hose reels and the Aerial Ladder Platform to extinguish the fire.
Crews were on the scene for approximately two hours and 20 minutes before returning later to respect the property.
