Fire in Slough

At 6:09pm on Saturday, 22 July, we received reports of a fire on Welland Close in Slough.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) crews from Slough and Langley fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer from RBFRS and another from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the ground floor of a semi-detached house. Firefighters equipped in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters rescued a woman from the building but, tragically they died at the scene of the incident. Our thoughts remain with her loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour and 50 minutes before handing over to Thames Valley Police. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
