At 5:18pm on Wednesday, 13 May, we received reports of a roof fire on Westmorland Drive in Bracknell.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bracknell, Ascot, Wokingham, Maidenhead, Windsor and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station and two Officers.

Upon arrival, crews found that a lightning strike had affected four domestic properties. Firefighters extinguished the fire before using the Aerial Ladder Platform to remove loose roof tiles, while Thames Valley Police assisted with traffic control and SEB External isolated the electrics to the properties to make the scene safe.

Crews were on scene for approximately three hours and 53 minutes.
