At 4:07pm on Wednesday, 21 October, we received reports of a fire on Honey End Lane in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Bracknell, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside four Officers and an Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire involving several garages. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and one main jet to extinguish the fire. One person was taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for approximately three hours and 50 minutes before returning the following morning to check for hotspots. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
