At 5:18pm on Tuesday, 26 May, we received reports of a fire on Express Way in Newbury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found a shipping container containing detonated fireworks. Firefighters evacuated surrounding buildings as a precaution, before using two main jets to dampen down the container and ensure the scene was safe.

They were on scene for approximately two hours and 13 minutes.
