At 1:43pm on Wednesday, 24 June, we received reports of an industrial fire on Colthrop Lane in Thatcham.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station and one crew from Theale Community Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke caused by overheated machinery. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to cool the machinery and make the scene safe, before advising onsite staff not to use the machinery until it has been inspected by a qualified engineer.

Crews were on scene for approximately 53 minutes.
