Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Caversham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a small kitchen fire caused by unattended cooking. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire, before using a fan to ventilate the smoke from the property.
