At 7:08pm on Thursday, 23 July, we received reports of an incident on Sidestrand Road in Newbury.  

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Hungerford fire stations were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a person trapped 15 metres off the ground in a tree. Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the person before providing immediate emergency care to them. The person was then placed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 35 minutes.
