At 8:44am on Saturday, 29 August, we received a call from South Central Ambulance Service to reports of a road traffic collision on Drift Road in Maidenhead.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bracknell and Ascot fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving one car and one van with one person medically trapped. Crews released them from the vehicle before giving them immediate emergency care. Tragically, they passed away at the scene. Our thoughts are with their friends, family and loved ones at this time.

Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

Thames Valley Police have published an appeal for witnesses following this incident.
