At 7:22am on Wednesday, 19 August, we received reports of a road traffic collision on Bath Road near Hungerford.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and a crew from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

On arrival, crews discovered a collision involving three vehicles. Firefighters rescued one person from one of the vehicles and provided immediate emergency care to two other people before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Tragically, one person passed away at the scene. Our thoughts are with their friends, family and loved ones at this time.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 25 minutes before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police.
