At 10:34pm on Saturday, 9 May, we received a call from National Highways to reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 eastbound between Junction 14, Shefford Woodlands, and Junction 13, Chieveley.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hungerford Fire Station and two crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving one van on its side. One person was placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service. Crews made the scene safe, before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police and National Highways.

Crews were on scene for approximately 22 minutes.
