At 5:31pm on Thursday, 28 May, we received a call from National Highways to reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 eastbound between Junction 12 in Theale and Junction 11 in Three Mile Cross.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Theale, Whitley Wood and Caversham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving a car and a lorry. Crews rescued two people from the car, before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service and making the scene safe.

Crews were on scene for approximately three hours.
