At 9:17pm on Wednesday, 9 September, we received a call from South Central Ambulance Service to reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 westbound between Junction 8/9 for Holyport and Junction 10 in Winnersh.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving one lorry and one car. Crews made the scene safe and assisted South Central Ambulance Service with giving one person immediate emergency care. Tragically, that person passed away at the scene. Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this time.

Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and 27 minutes.
