At 2:57pm on Thursday, 5 January, we received reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 (W) between Shefford Woodlands and Membury Services.
Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station and a crew from Theale Community Fire Station were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found that a van had collided with a barrier and one person was trapped inside.
Crews worked to release the person from the vehicle before providing Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) and placing them into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Crews were on the scene for approximately 44 minutes.
