At 7.38am we received reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 westbound between J13 for Chieveley and J14 for Shefford Woodlands.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and crews from Theale and Caversham Road Fire Stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving two lorries. No people were trapped but firefighters provided immediate emergency care to one person with minor injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene for about one hour and ten minutes before handing over to National Highways. The road is likely to remain closed for some time while a shipping container is recovered.
