At 2:06pm on Thursday, 16 July, we received reports of a fire on Copse Mead in Woodley.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Ascot, Crowthorne, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two Officers, an Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.

Crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a shed fire that had spread to two houses. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire. Crews also provided immediate emergency care to one person before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for approximately six hours and 25 minutes before returning later to check for hotspots.
