At 8:40am on Sunday, 2 April, we were called to rescue animals near Waltham Road in Ruscombe.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Wokingham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene alongside two officers and the Water Rescue team from Caversham Road Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a flock of over 50 sheep stranded in deep water. Firefighters assisted the farmer in successfully rescuing all the animals, totalling 24 ewes, 27 lambs and one ram.
Crews were on the scene for approximately four hours and 50 minutes.
