At 1:53pm on Wednesday, 10 June, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the A34 northbound between the A343 Andover Road and A4 Bath Road.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found one car on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire and make the scene safe, before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police.

Crews were on scene for approximately 36 minutes.
