At 8:08pm on Saturday, 29 August, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the M4 westbound between Junction 8/9 for Holyport and Junction 10 in Winnersh.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Maidenhead Fire Station and two crews from Slough Fire Station were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found one car on fire, with the flames spreading to nearby trees. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to put out the fire, before handing the scene over to National Highways.

Crews were on scene for approximately 57 minutes.
