Fire on M4(E)

At 10:25am on Thursday, 30 July, we received reports of a vehicle fire between Junction 7 and Junction 8/9 on the eastbound carriageway of the M4.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the ‘Zetros’ Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire involving a large lorry trailer. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus escorted the vehicle to a waste disposal site before using one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 20 minutes.
