At 1:42pm on Thursday, 28 May, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the M4 eastbound between Junction 14 in Shefford Woodlands and Junction 13 in Chieveley.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station and one crew from Theale Community Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found one flatbed lorry on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire and dampen down the area, before handing the scene over to National Highways.

Crews were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
