At 11:14am on Monday, 15 June, we received reports of a vehicle fire at junction 8/9 on the eastbound carriageway of the M4.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Ascot and Bracknell fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer.

On arrival, crews discovered a van on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes before handing over to Thames Valley Police and National Highways.
