Vehicle fire on the A34

At 6:59pm on Tuesday, 2 June, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the A34 near Chieveley.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a car on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately 50 minutes before handing the scene over to National Highways.
